
Bernd Angerer is a film artist specialized in digital character animation and visual effects for feature film and tv-commercials.
Bernd got in touch with computer graphics in the late 1980s during his study of sound engineering at the “Academy of Performing Arts” in Vienna / Austria.
In 1991 Bernd created the first 3d animated tv-commercial in Austria and his video projections of “Talking Paintings” further earned him great recognition.
In 1996 Bernd joined the visual effects studio Digital Domain, where he continued his career as character animator on James Cameron’s "Titanic" and soon as lead animator and animation supervisor on such high profile projects like "I Robot" by Alex Proyas and the "Adidas - mechanical legs" tv-commercial by David Fincher. In 2005, after his 9 years run at Digtal Domain, Bernd accepted an invitation to contribute his skills to "Spiderman 3" by Sam Raimi as sequence animation supervisor at Sony Pictures Imageworks. He was deeply involved in the character development of the two villains "Sandman" and "Venom". Bernd also developed animation and camera for the alley chase sequence and, during shot production, lead a team of animation artists through several sequences of the movie.
In 2008 Bernd headed up the animation team to create the Paris chase sequence in "GI-Joe" by Stephen Sommers and currently is in the final stretch as one of the animation supervisors for Disney's spectacular "Tron - Legacy" , directed by Joseph Kosinski.
By now Bernd has two decades of experience in leading teams of various sizes. His hands-on, artistic approach has earned him an industry wide reputation. Bernd is skilled in communicating with clients and artists alike.
